Sips & Spoilers: Valentine’s Edition

Hello, all! And happy Valentine’s day! I won’t write a whole monologue about being single or loving yourself or anything like that. There are plenty way too many articles and blogs like that being written today. So instead, I’m going to write about beer, as I always do. If you want other great Valentines Day content, visit here, here aaaaaaand here.

Usually I choose one TV show and pair it with a beer. But this week, I’m going to do something a tad different. I’m going to write about a few of my favorite television romances of all time and dedicate a beer to each of them.

Jim and Pam (The Office)

Jim and Pam are the quintessential television romance. They’re attractive and easy to root for, but they’re not perfect. Their relationship has flaws and complexities, just like any other romance. But that’s what tied Office fans to them from the pilot. So Jim and Pam, I’m raising my glass full of Bell’s Hopslam to you. Just like the popular honey-infused IPA, you’re sweet, everyone wants what you have and you make me happy inside.

Shawn and Jules (Psych)

Shawn and Jules are like Yin and Yang (that reference is for you Psych fans out there.) Shawn is the endlessly goofy and irreverent man-child, while Jules is the by-the-book, grounded foundation of the relationship. No one television couple makes me laugh as much as you guys do. So I’m dedicating my next glass of Mikkeller Spontanpeach to Shawn Spencer and Juliet O’Hara. This beer is unique and peachy, just like you.

Leslie and Ben (Parks & Recreation)

Leslie and Ben are like that couple that you love, but you don’t like to be around because they make you feel like crap. Because, let’s face it, they’re way more successful than you are. Leslie loves her country and job more than any one person should. And Ben loves numbers almost as much as he loves Leslie. Ben and Leslie, this Birra Farmhouse Ale is for you. You two are bright and bubbly, as any good Saison should be. Bonus: you’re from the heart of America.
