Almost There (AOTY & Top List Preview)

Well, friends, October is almost upon us. We’re getting into the late autumn and early winter months and you know what that means…end of the year lists! Well, not quite yet. Those won’t be here until late December. However, it has come to my attention that this year in music has been absolutely spectacular. I was going through my 2013 playlist on iTunes and my “Need To Listen” list on my desktop, and I subsequently thought “Wow. How am I ever going to pick my Top 10 albums this year?” I decided a while ago that I’m going to be expanding my personal list to 25 albums, just so I don’t feel bad about leaving certain albums out. This post is merely a preview of what my list may (or may not) look like in a few months.

But mainly I’m posting this for discussion purposes. I love talking music with people and I want to hear what you all have been enjoying this year and what you’re still looking forward to as 2013 rolls along! I’ve broken up all of the albums concerned into a few categories, including a list of all the albums I haven’t gotten to yet (it’s quite expansive and I have some serious work I need to do to catch up), as well as some albums that are still to come that I could see potentially fitting on my list. So go ahead and peruse at your own will. Feel free to comment and say what you have and haven’t liked. And, by all means, add something that you think was awesome that you feel I should check out! If you introduce me to a new album or band that I love, we’ll be the best of friends (maybe not, but you’ll be a cool person for doing it). Enjoy! The albums listed are alphabetical and don’t reflect how they might finish by year’s end.
